1630 IITians Together Can Create an Economic Value of Rs.16, 000 crores!

Few years back package of 7-8 lakhs per annum was considered as very high, but now it seems very normal. If you have talent, all big companies are ready to pay you high pay packages. These day many big companies are visiting Non-IITs also in search of talent and if students from these institutes have skills they are willing to offer high pay packages to these students also. Are IITians better than IAS officers ??

On the Foundation Day of the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (IIT-P), Patna University Vice-Chancellor YC Simhadri said that IAS officers are over-hyped. Indian Administrative Services officers are merely clerks in a government office meant to implement government schemes. Civil Services Examinations too are similar to undergraduate examinations conducted by colleges.  Delivering a lecture at Nebula – the Fresher’s Day programme of IIT-P, Simhadri said that IITs at better at testing students’ caliber and picking up the best of the lot. He said, “IITs are a brand. So, you are very much inside Mumbai (City that never sleeps), yet isolated from it. Indeed, IIT Bombay in itself is a city of its own.
