They have also submitted a memorandum to the union HRD with signatures of different party MPS who supported their demand.

Which is the Best Coaching Institute of India for IIT JEE Preparation ??

Image
There is no definite answer to this. Because the question is very subjective: What is meant by  best ? The institute that has the best faculty? The best study material? The institute producing best ranks in JEE? The institute producing great minds that go on to do good stuff in college? Or something else? And more importantly, it doesn't matter. I would say that most of the institutes are good! Some similarities and differences between coaching institutes: 1)  Almost all institutes have 2 sets of faculty : The great ones, and the not-so-great ones. The great ones are assigned to batches with better students, in general. So if you are among the top students in your institute, then it doesn't matter which institute you are in. You will almost surely get good faculty. 2)  Almost all institutes have students of mixed level : Some are bright, while some are not-so-bright. Some sincere, some not-so-sincere. You need to be able to differentiate the two kinds, and try to learn fro

How does parents staying along with you in Kota affect your JEE preparation?

Image
A scene of Kota There are ways in which it can be helpful. Though there are several ways in which it can be a distraction. Kota is a place where lacs of students come every year to make a mark, a fraction of them succeeds. Many of them fall for the freedom, which most of them gets for the first time. One can fall for the habits which can derail you from the very path you swore to follow, and believe me, coming back is so hard. In this case you need a self check if you live alone, but parents can help you in a greater extent there. You will have more self control over yourself. There are times where you feel catastrophic. Let it be a bad rank in routine test or a inner feeling of fear of exams or something like this. In that case, parents can help you come over rather fast and give a moral booster(a phone conversation in this case doesn't solve much problems). And who doesn't love to eat food made by mom. Though Kota's mess' aren't that bad, still you will hav

IIT-K students develop a 'bi-ped robot' which can perform many tasks

Students of Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-Kanpur) have developed a humaniod robot having two legs named 'Bi-ped'. The unique feature of this humanoid is that it has legs by which it manages to balance itself instead of earlier robots that were supported with wheels. The star attractions of this robot being that it can detect a wall in front and take a turn, can stand up after falling down and can even kick a ball. Also, it can work at the locations where human lives are at risk, like in cases of fire mishaps, detecting and diffusing a bomb and can do a number of other jobs like fetching files in the office and taking care of a child at home. Utsav Gupta and Vivek Verma, the B.Tech students, along with their peers Shivam Soni, Varun Verma and Deepak Pawar had exhibited the robot 'Bi-ped' at the first ever student research convention organised by Hall IV (hostel) at the campus of IIT-Kanpur. Talking to TOI, Utsav and Vivek said that the 'bipedal robot&#

7 Common Myths in JEE Aspirants About IIT

Image
IIT-JEE aspirants often wonder things about the IITs, their dream institutions. They discuss about them with their friends. However, in this process, like the classical game of Chinese Whispers, a lot of wrong information is floated around, which gets turned and twisted at every stage and ultimately gets misguiding at once. Most aspirants believe these myths to be true, which could be harmful sometimes. Even I used to believe some of these before coming to IIT. Here are 7 common myths relating to IITs. Please provide feedback, positive or negative, through comments at the end of this post: Myth 1: “IIT Mandi is the best according to that magazine’s rankings” Around the time of April-May each year, all magazines claim to have conducted surveys and studies in all colleges across India, and allot points on different fields like campus, academics, extra-academics, etc. Do you really think these magazines go to all these colleges and do these studies and surveys as they claim?
